Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower - Chapter 192: Factories
Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Factories
Ninth was the beer brewing machine. Most people ignored it since drinks seemed useless when survival came first.
But only a few knew that in the years to come, beer would become a hard currency.
The tenth was the large ice maker machine, which could freeze water. Soon, the onslaught of natural disasters will begin, and then the arrival of extreme heat will make ice a high-priced commodity.
While purchasing the machines and food, Ivy also considered storing supplies for extreme heat and cold; however, to her dismay, there were no sellers available.
Only a few rare sellers with stock remained after five months of the apocalypse. Other sellers had either passed away or were located far from their own stores and manufacturing hubs.
Ivy considered purchasing information and rights to the manufacturing hubs that their owners could not access. However, she identified a potential problem.
What if a landslide completely destroyed the manufacturing hub by the time Ivy arrived? Or worse… someone had already stolen all the items? Won’t she be incurring a loss then?
Yet, after researching a bit, Ivy was tempted to buy the rights to a few of the manufacturing hubs.
For example, the water bottle factory had machines and supplies capable of producing large quantities of safe drinking bottles. Everyone needed clean water, and bottles would always be useful.
Then there was the canned food factory, which still had machines to seal meat, beans, and vegetables. Even if the place was half damaged, just saving one sealing machine would mean endless food storage for her.
Another tempting one was the clothing mill. With disasters coming, clothes would wear out fast. Warm jackets, shoes, and strong cloth would turn into treasures one day.
She also thought about the fertilizer plant. Most people ignored it, but she knew farming would be the only long-term way to live. Without fertilizer, even the best soil could turn useless in a few years.
There was also the battery factory. It was risky, since power plants were mostly down, but batteries could power lights or even small machines. In the dark nights of the apocalypse, they would be worth a fortune.
Although she had solar panels, the generators, which are charged during the extreme heat, will run out of electricity during the extreme cold that lasts almost 3 to 4 months.
At that time, the battery could be used in torches or other small yet useful items.
And lastly, the medical supply factory. Though she had gotten medicine supplies from her superpower, she still felt it would be better to raid the medical supply factory once.
The only silver lining for Ivy was that she had bought all the solar panels, solar equipment, and generators from Atlas, and now she had enough capital to buy the rights to the manufacturing hub she was eyeing.
With Martha’s help, Ivy quickly acquired the news related to all manufacturing hubs and came up with the final list. After submitting it to Martha who was in charge of negotiating, Ivy decided to rest.
Just then, a knock sounded on her door. “Come in.” Ivy massaged her forehead and ordered.
Liliana walked inside and saluted Ivy before reporting, “Miss Ivy, Silas’s team has returned.”
Ivy’s heart skipped a beat, and all her fatigue disappeared in an instant. She sat straight and asked with a burning gaze, “Have they reached the military base?”
“Yes.” Liliana nodded. She then hesitated before asking, “Do you want me to invite Mister Silas here?”
“No need.” Ivy stood up and rushed toward the door. “Tell Martha I am on leave today.”
Before Liliana could even reply with, ’okay,’ Ivy had already left.
’Eh? Why is the boss in such a hurry? Does she want to settle some kind of score with Mr. Silas?’ Liliana thought. Ivy’s expression… it was filled with determination and a hint of nervousness, making Liliana wonder if Ivy set out to fight with someone.
(A/n: The only fight that will happen is in the bed~)
………………..
Before leaving her base, Ivy first changed her clothes, and even her innerwear was changed. After a deep contemplation, she wore the black lingerie she had bought, while her face turned crimson.
’Don’t be shy! Don’t be shy! Now is the time to fight!’ She motivated herself before wearing a beautiful, floral white one-piece with spaghetti straps.
The V-neckline elegantly highlighted her ample bosom, while the knee-length dress gracefully enhanced her slender silhouette. She then styled her hair into a bun, allowing two delicate strands to frame her cheeks.
With her heart beating like a drum, Ivy set out. On the way, she met Franklin, who was entering the base after a practice session.
The moment he saw her, his footsteps halted, and he froze.
Ivy was worried about his health, but more than that, she wanted to see Silas. Suppressing her excitement, she reached up to him and asked,
“What happened? Are you poisoned?”
That was the first thought that had entered Ivy’s mind. Just a few days ago, someone in the base was poisoned and had stood frozen for 2 hours before everyone realized that he wasn’t doing any kind of prank.
On investigation, it was later revealed that the man was accidentally poisoned during one of the practice sessions, and the poison had spread quickly through his body. If the healer had not rushed and used their power to cure him, he would have died right there.
So when Ivy saw Franklin standing stiff, her heart sank.
But Franklin blinked, shook his head, and coughed lightly. “N-No… I’m fine. I was just… surprised.”
“Surprised?” Ivy tilted her head, not understanding.
Franklin scratched the back of his neck, his ears turning red. “Miss Ivy… you look… different today.”
Ivy was taken aback for a second before realizing what he meant.
Her face grew hot, and she quickly looked away. “I-I see… Then don’t stand here looking silly. I have some work to do.”
“Yes, ma’am…” Franklin nodded before asking, “If you don’t mind, can I accompany you?”
