Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Modifications

Entering the temporal storage, Ivy spotted the difference right away. The space had expanded by a huge margin. The gloominess in the temporal storage had reduced too.

A cold yet comforting breeze brushed past Ivy, while the fresh scent of grass soothed Ivy’s tired mind.

“Hm… this time the change in the temporal storage is more environmental, I guess…” She murmured, her eyes curiously taking in the surroundings in the hopes of spotting massive changes that had taken place.

“Alright, I will begin with the multiplication of the items first. I would like to multiply all the salt packets.”

[Would you like to multiply all the varieties of salt packets 75 times? The cost is 23942 KB.]

Ivy’s eyes brightened. 75 times?

“So the multiplication will increase by 25 times every 2 upgrades.” Ivy sucked in a deep breath. “Good. It will generate more food. Yes.”

The last word was directed to the temporal storage, which didn’t ask any further questions, and soon varieties of salt packets started to rain.

Satisfied, Ivy thought about the instruction manual and was delighted after checking it. She could now stay or store any living thing inside the temporal storage for 25 days!

“Show me the shopping interface,” Ivy commanded.

The next second, a holographic blue panel appeared with various items and their prices written along with it. Ivy searched for items like ’iron ore’ or ’machines’ but didn’t find anything.

“Looks like the shopping interface hasn’t updated much…” Ivy fell into deep thought before closing the interface and ordering.

“Build a two-bedroom apartment.”

[Would you like to build a two-bedroom apartment for 2KB?]

“Yes.” Ivy’s heart palpitated.

[Commencing the order… construction successful.]

Ivy watched as the area in front of her flashed with a brilliant white light, and when the white light faded, she watched an apartment twice the size of the one-bedroom apartment appear in front of her.

The apartment was made of wood, and it made Ivy wonder if she could just swap out the material with stone instead.

“Swap the material of the house with stone.” She ordered while her eyes stayed trained on the beautiful apartment.

[That would cost 2 KB.]

“Again? Truly…” Ivy’s heart was filled with complaints, yet she reined in her temper and stated with a steady gaze, “Do it.”

Whoosh.

A brilliant light flashed, and the next second, a house made of stone appeared.

“Can you swap it with bricks and cement?” Ivy probed.

[Would you like to swap the…]

“Yes.” She interrupted with a patient expression. After staying with the temporal storage for such a long time, she was well aware of its habit to confirm everything again and again.

[Commencing the order… error! Insufficient Level!]

“Knew it.” She shook her head before ordering, “Make a tower with two floors.”

[Would you like to build a two-floor building with four apartments for 20KB?]

“Yes.”

[Commencing the order…error! Insufficient level!]

“Build three apartments in a tower.”

[Would you like to build a two-floor building with three apartments for 15KB?]

“Yes.”

[Commencing the order…error! Insufficient level!]

“Build two apartments in the tower.”

[Would you like to build a two-floor building with four apartments for 10KB?]

“Yes,”

[Commencing the order… construction successful.]

Ivy watched with awe as a brilliant light flashed, and soon a building-like structure appeared. Though it only had two floors, it was enough to make her thrilled.

She made a beeline for the tower’s entrance.

The entire tower was made of stone, with a rectangular space open (possibly the door).

The most eye-catching detail was that the stone tower was made of one big stone rather than many stones connected to build a tower.

On entering, Ivy noticed that other than the staircase leading to the second floor, the first floor was completely empty.

It was spacious to the point that it could easily hold four tractors. Hollow and dull. Those were the words that would come to mind if someone entered.

After climbing the stairs, Ivy noticed a 5-step passage that leads to an intersection. On each side there was a room.

With her sharp gaze, Ivy noticed that the space on each side was enough to settle more than one room. There was no balcony, making the building look a bit suffocating.

However, what puzzled her was how spacious the place looked.

From the outside, the building looked ordinary, but its interior was far more spacious.

’Is it a special feature? Or did the temporal storage build this tower using the space crystals?’ Ivy wondered.

Before Ivy died in her previous life, she had heard of spatial buildings. Some of the talented engineers with the space element came up with the idea of building a tower that occupies less space and yet is spacious from the inside.

Even though a minor success was achieved after a decade, Ivy was still amazed by the advancement and talent of humans.

“If it is indeed true… that would explain why the Temporal Storage requested 10,000 space crystals,” Ivy muttered, her eyes flashing with admiration and respect.

After exploring the two apartments, she realized that the two-bedroom apartment had a dining room and an additional room as well as a bathroom.

Satisfied, Ivy opened the shopping interface, this time with the intent of giving the entire tower a good makeover, and found wall paint.

After thinking for a while, she bought some white paint. She ordered the temporary storage to paint the entire tower white and then made modifications to it.

First, she ordered the temporal storage to cut off a portion of the stone on the second floor, transforming the second floor into something more open.

A white light flashed. The thick wall vanished, leaving a wide balcony-like space. Fresh air seemed to flow through, and the second floor no longer looked so stuffy.

“Better. Now it looks less like a cave and more like a place someone can live in.” Ivy muttered.

Next, she tapped the shopping interface again. “Add windows.”

[Would you like to add four windows per room for 2KB?]

“Yes.”
