Reawakening: Primordial Dragon with Limitless Mana - Chapter 150: Killing herself
Chapter 150: Killing herself
Luna stirred awake, her brows furrowing before she spotted Hades standing nearby, his back turned.
She glanced the other way and saw Peri still asleep, breathing softly.
Quietly, she slipped out of bed and walked over. Wrapping her arms around Hades’ waist, she asked in a gentle voice, “What are you looking at?”
Hades had sensed her coming, so he didn’t react. “Just… checking the map,” he replied calmly.
Luna followed his gaze. It was fixed in the region where the dragons lived.
Three continents. Six major dragon kingdoms.
“We are here,” Hades pointed at the smallest continent, positioned in the northeast, close to the human and elven realms.
Unlike the human realm, which was confined to a narrow stretch of land, the other races controlled vast territories. The beast tribes, especially, could be found on every continent.
“Eldrosia… three kingdoms,” Luna murmured.
On this continent stood the Kingdom of Aethernox, ruled by Kaelith; Emberclad, ruled by Argon; and Cravanvor, ruled by Egalaith Draven Cravanvor.
Their own kingdom lay in the far south. Emberclad spread across the western lands, claiming the largest share of the continent. Cravanvor occupied the north, its borders pressing close to both Aethernox and the human realm.
Now, forces from Cravanvor were gathering to launch an ambush against Aethernox. The reason was clear enough.
But the one kingdom capable of shattering that plan… was Emberclad.
The problem was distance. It would take time for Emberclad’s army to cross the land and reach the interception point.
However—Hades narrowed his eyes at the map—”When Lord Emberclad gave his shadow the order, he said ’return to the base,’ not the capital. That means… the base must be somewhere here.” His finger tapped the eastern region, near the border, close enough to cut across Cravanvor’s path.
Luna let out a sigh. “Well, it’s no surprise. Someone as ancient as him must have several bases scattered across the continent… maybe even the world.”
Hades hummed in agreement. “I’ve never heard anything about this from my mother. But I’m sure… she’ll teach me slowly.”
Resting her chin on his shoulder, Luna asked, “Do you plan on helping her with administration?”
Hades gave a wry smile. “I’m not good at that sort of thing. I can be her spear, not her advisor.”
Luna chuckled. “But you are a great leader.”
“Managing four people and managing a whole nation are completely different things,” Hades replied calmly.
On field, he might be a good leader, but before a mission it usually was Cedric and Graham who did all the planning.
The budget was in the hands of Taylor and other things were managed by Luna.
That’s why, when it comes to things related to pen and paper, where proper planning is required, Hades feels he might not be the best person to turn to.
Luna tilted her head. “Still… I don’t think Miss Kaelith plans on having another child. That reminds me!” A sudden thought crossed her mind—one she had been holding back for some time.
Hades turned, brows slightly raised, as Luna asked, “Who is your father? I’ve never seen him around… ah, don’t tell me—” She froze, regret flashing across her face. What if he had already passed away? Was that why Kaelith never mentioned him?
But Hades shook his head. “It’s not what you’re thinking. Actually… I don’t have a father.”
Luna’s eyes widened, baffled.
Hades spoke calmly. “She was prophesied to bear the child of Chaos. But she didn’t need a mate for that. The Primordial One left behind his essence—an orb of flame carrying his blood, his fire, and his will. She consumed it… and that’s how I was born.”
He had learned this truth not so long ago, during quiet talks with his mother, while his mates were resting.
Back then, Aethernox was just a small clan. But because of their unwavering devotion to Zerathos, they were blessed with the right to bear the child of the Primordial One.
“That’s… a very strange thing to hear,” Luna muttered softly.
Hades only shrugged. “I never asked her if she was happy with that decision—if she ever wanted it. She was forced to carry a massive responsibility. And truthfully… I’m afraid to ask.”
He didn’t want to imagine what went through her heart when she was told she would bear the child of Chaos—the very being no one wished to see return.
From that moment, Kaelith had been made clan leader.
She was still young then. By dragon standards, only in her early twenties. Yet she threw herself into raising him while also leading and managing an entire nation.
Hades often thought his burdens were heavy. But compared to hers, his struggles were nothing. She had been carrying the weight of a people for years.
Sensing his unease, Luna squeezed his hands. “I’m sure you can help her now. If nothing else… you can give her the emotional support she deserves.”
Hades heaved a sigh, “Well, I hope I just don’t cause any more problems to her. And for that, I need to train as much as I can.”
Luna leaned closer, resting her face against his chest as she said, “Don’t worry, you won’t.”
Glancing towards the bed, Hades asked, “How is Peri?”
Luna confirmed, “She is doing fine. Samarella had been silent since that night, fortunately. However, Peri said that the dragoness was quite fuming.”
Having Blood Bond with Peri would severely reduce Samarella’s will on Peri. Or at least, when Peri would be pulled into Samarella’s consciousness again, she would be able to defend herself.
With his blood, her growth would be significant from here on. However, they need to take a different path in training than before.
And Avalin seemed to have taken that role.
Since engulfed the room as the two comfortably hugged each other.
Just then,
*Knock* *Knock*
Two urgent knocks broke the tranquility.
Hades frowned before approaching the door.
*Click*
A familiar pinkette stood there, a nervous look on her face.
“Ava?”
She informed, “Young Master, Lady Averis’s condition is worsening.”
“What happened?” Luna asked, stepping forward.
The beast girl added, “Rather than warming up, her body temperature is further falling. She might not survive like this.”
Hades frowned, “But the treatment should have been effective.”
“Yes, but she isn’t cooperating. The external heat provided to her body isn’t reaching her core.” The girl responded in a hurried voice.
Hades clicked his tongue and stepped out of the room, “I swear to god. She is hell bent on killing herself.”
